OMT4 Electric motors
Power range: 0.09kW - 18.5kW
IEC mechanical sizes: 56 ÷ 160
OMT4 series motors - in aluminium hulls, mechanical size 56÷160
OMT4 series motors have a monobloc frame structure with screwed foots and with threaded sprues on the frame, which makes it possible to extend the foots and change their location to the terminal box (variant with a terminal box on the right or the left side of the motor frame). By unscrewing or tightening the foots to the body you receive an other versions of the mechanical mounting method of the motor – respectively flange mounting (B5, B14) or foot & flange mounting (B35, B34).
The motors are used in general industry. They can be used to drive machines and devices whose operation is continuous without frequent starts and relapses. Due to the degree of protection (IP55), they can work in conditions where the surrounding air contains impurities. Air dust content should not be higher than 10 mg/m3. However, these cannot be chemically aggressive contaminants, such as acid and lye vapors, or explosive mixtures. The motors are designed for bi-directional operation as standard.
Our offer also includes modifications and modernizations of standard products according to the special customer needs.
Our workshop include:
- mechanical modifications related to the method of mounting and connecting the motor
- increasing the degree of protection; additional winding impregnation; higher class of insulation
- installation of winding and bearing temperature sensors according to the customer's needs
- installation of bearing vibration sensors
- installation of anti-condensation heaters to prevent condensation of water vapor inside the engine during long-term standstill
- installation of encoders with parameters in accordance with customer requirements (including those provided by the customer)
- electromagnetic brake installation; selection of the correct brake
- electromagnetic brake installation; selection of the correct brake
- installation of external (forced) cooling with a separately powered and driven fan, for engines designed to regulate the rotational speed; production of special external cooling modules for self-assembly by the user
- analysis of bearing loads and durability for the needs of the drive application (reinforced bearings for belt drives or other transmissions with high radial and axial forces, insulated bearings for motors designed to work with inverters, etc.)
- selection of couplings, pulleys, etc. and alignment of the drive system using precise laser devices
- selection of correct slides and tensioning rails
Motors from mechanical range 56÷160 are equipped as standard with closed ball bearings that do not require additional lubrication.
In motors from mechanical size 180÷355, open bearings with the possibility of relubrication on the run are used.

On special request, the motors can be equipped with reinforced roller bearings from the NU series , mounted on the frontal drive side of the motor. When using motor for a belt transmission, permissible radial loads must be agreed. An example of a departure from ball bearings can be high-power electric motors. In many applications often use groove ball bearings , such bearings may not be able to transmit the required radial loads and consequently do not provide satisfactory durability. Therefore, the replacement by roller bearings allows for more reliable motor operation under heavy loads.
The motors meets the requirements contained in the standards PN-EN 60034-1, IEC 34-1/9, PN-IEC 72-1, IEC 85, DIN 57530/VDE 0530 and in related and equivalent standards.
Motors marked with IE2/IE3 symbols meet the requirements of the standard PN-EN 60034-30 and EC 640/2009 + UE4/2014 regulations regarding high efficiency electric motors according to IE2 and IE3 classification.

Voltage and frequency
In the basic version, the motors are supplied for the following supply voltages:
- 230V(Δ) / 400V(Y) ±5%; 50Hz for power ≤2,2 kW
- 400V(Δ) / 690V(Y) ±5%; 50Hz for power ≥3,0 kW
The windings of motors with a power ≤2.2 kW are connected in star (Y) at the factory, while those with a power ≥3.0 kW are connected in delta (Δ)- as standard for a 400V/50Hz mains supply voltage.
The motors have 6 winding terminals, which allows them to be switched in delta or star depending on the available power supply. For all motors wound for 400/690V, starting is possible with a Y/Δ switch.
Standard motors can also be powered from the mains with a rated frequency of 60Hz, in which case they achieve a power rating approximately 15% higher than when powered from the 50Hz mains, respectively:
- 265V(Δ) / 460V(Y) ±5%; 60Hz Þ P60Hz=115%×P50Hz
- 460V(Δ) / 796V(Y) ±5%; 60Hz Þ P60Hz=115%×P50Hz
In accordance with EN60034-1, IEC34-1, it is also permissible to supply motors with a voltage tolerance of ±10%, but the parameters may deviate from the rated, and the permissible winding temperature rise may differ by approximately 10˚C from the values accepted for the specified heat resistance class.
